Is it time to empower yourself?
Do you ever feel that you have no control over your life or your work? Is your time spent tending to other people's needs at the expense of your own?
No matter what personal challenges you face, you can always make choices that give you back control. Personal empowerment is about taking control of your own life, and making positive decisions based on what you want. And true empowerment comes when you convert that intention into action.
It can be difficult, you desperately want to feel stronger, and to make a bigger impact, but how do you do it?
Start with identifying where you’re stuck. Do you ever feel unhappy, but you’re not really sure why you’re not happy? Maybe you feel like you don’t know yourself? Your purpose in life feels unclear. You’re questioning if you still want what you thought you wanted. If this is you, then you need to invest a little time in reflection. If you journal start writing down how you’re feeling and get clear on where you’re stuck.
The next step is to work out what you truly want. Since we all have different goals and dreams for the future, getting clear on your vision will help you create a path that feels the most fulfilling to you.
Then ask yourself, what are your strengths and how do they serve you? Knowing your strengths helps increase your self-awareness. It can give you a new appreciation for traits you previously undervalued in yourself.
If you are clear about your strengths, they can serve you by allowing you to contribute more value to others and the world around you. Furthermore, you will be in an optimal position to take advantage of critical opportunities that only become available when you’re focused on the right kinds of things.
Then, most importantly, make a plan and start to move forward. This is perhaps the toughest part of the journey, leading your life where you want to be. While it will be tough, you also need to know that it is POSSIBLE. You can lead your life where you want to be, the key will be having courage and determination.
And finally ensure you are living with the right balance. Start thinking about yourself in terms of capacity, not just hours in the day (aka the time). What do you have the capacity to do - think holistically about your mental space, your energy levels and your time available.
Personal empowerment means giving yourself permission to succeed. But it doesn't mean "going it alone." Chances are, you'll need the input, support and guidance of others to achieve your objectives.
Which is why in celebration of International Women’s Day I am hosting a free 5 day challenge - Empower Your Life (learn more here - https://www.theleaptolead.com/empower) Why? Because we’re not there yet. Because the rights we have are not secure. Because progress hasn’t been equal. And because sometimes we need to remember we’re not alone.
In this 5 day challenge we will work together through each of the 5 steps I’ve just outlined. This challenge will see you getting really honest with yourself, stripping it all back and really looking at your life. Making sure you’re living the life you want to be living.
Do you want to escape the rut? Are you ready to rethink your life and make a change?
From 6 to 10 March, we will work live through the training for each step. You will have a dedicated workbook and support you through your journey. There are bonus resources and a community of like minded women that will have your back each step of the way. And if you show up and play hard, you’ll be in with a chance to win a copy of my favourite book, Playing Big by Tara Mohr.
It doesn’t matter who you are - a stay at home mum or a career mum, empowering your life is about taking back control and taking action with intention. If you want that control. If you want to be intentional in your actions. This challenge is for you!
