What are your dreams?
What have you been dreaming about lately? What aspirations have you had for yourself? I am willing to bet that as a busy mother, not a lot.
Today I invite you to take a moment for yourself. Take a walk in the sunshine. Sit with a cup of tea. Park your car for 5 minutes near a reserve or some nature. Take a moment just for you. Take an intentional moment, be deliberate about this moment.
Let go of everything that’s weighing you down at the moment, it will still be there after. Stop thinking about your to-do list. Pause the mental rehearsal of that conversation you have to have with your teenage son. Just let go of the busyness in your mind.
Give this moment as a gift to yourself. It’s not going to cost you anything. You’re not taking a whole day or even a half day. You’re gifting yourself a moment.
Stop feeling guilty about everything else you should be doing. Stop questioning whether you said the right thing earlier. Stop worrying. Just be.
Now, once you’ve let go of your mental load. Once you’ve given yourself that physical space. Ask yourself, if I could do anything what would that be? Without limitations, without barriers, dream big. If I could do anything, what would that be? What would it look like? How would I feel? What would be happening for me?
Allow your mind to be free. Stop judging yourself and what pops up. Just allow yourself to explore. You’ve been too busy to dream lately, this is your gift of a moment to dream.
What are you seeing for yourself? What are you experiencing? What are you learning? What are you doing? Who is loving you for it?
I know, it’s been too long since you’ve dreamed. This feels hard. But it is so important, so stay with it. Sip your cup of tea, take a deep breath of fresh air, and dream. Dream big. Let it flow for you.
Now, you’re starting to see something. You feel a little tingly. You feel a little scar-cited. A little scared but a little excited too. You feel like it could be possible. Allow yourself these feelings, and stay with them for a moment longer.
When you’re ready, think about what this dream might look like if you phrased it as a goal for yourself. What would be the outcome if this dream came to fruition? Say your goal aloud, say it to yourself. Notice how it feels for you. Sit with that goal, picture yourself actually doing it.
This is your time to live a meaningful life that you love. This is your time to recognise that you do have dreams. This is your time to turn those dreams into a goal for yourself.
When you’re ready, take the next step and put some detail around that goal. In what timeframe will you achieve it? What are 3 or 4 key actions you need to take? Break those actions into a smaller to-do list. What support would you need? What could you start with today?
Now is the time to allocate you and your dreams in your diary. Even if you can’t grab a full hour and it’s 3 x 20 minute pieces of time, put it in your diary. Make yourself your number one priority.

You’ve got this. You can dream again. You don’t have to ignore yourself. You can make time for yourself. You don’t have to feel guilty, you just need to be intentional.
