If an old link or bookmark brought you here, you're in the right place. The business you may have known as Expat Parenting Abroad has been The Leap To Lead since 2022, and it's still me behind it.
I've spent more than twenty years living between countries. I gave up my HR career to follow my husband's work overseas and poured my energy into school committees, parent groups and networking, and in Chongqing I was genuinely happy but also dissatisfied, with a feeling in my gut that I needed something of my own.
That something became Expat Parenting Abroad, which I launched in Taipei in 2018 after working with my business coach Amel through Tandem Nomads. It was a home for expat parents finding their feet in a new country, and it travelled with us when we moved to Auckland the following year.
Over the next few years the work shifted underneath the name. I was writing less about parenting tips and more about identity, purpose and transition, and the women I coached wanted to talk about who they were becoming as much as how their children were settling.
In 2022 Amel asked me a question I've never forgotten.
‘Are you prepared to let Expat Parenting Abroad go?’
My answer was yes, and The Leap To Lead is what grew in its place.
The Leap To Lead is for capable women who are tired of carrying everything and quietly wondering when it's their turn. I work with them through private coaching, the LeadHer Circle and keynote speaking, drawing on 25 years inside leadership teams across seven countries.
Underneath it all is Transition Intelligence, the ability to think clearly and stay anchored to who you are when everything around you is changing, and you can read more about how it works.
Much of what I learned through Expat Parenting Abroad is still in the work. A move overseas is one of the biggest identity shifts a woman can go through, and I understand it from the inside, most recently with our move to Bangkok in 2026.
My newsletter is the best way to see what I'm thinking and writing about now, with honest reflections on identity, change and building what's next.
Thank you for finding your way back here.
